Amishland and Lakes

August 2-4, 2013

DescriptionAmishland and Lakes is a three day tour of Amish countryside and Michigan lake country. On Friday evening there are two warm-up routes (14 & 32) with the longer route going into Shipshewana. Saturday the tour visits a world where lifestyles have remained unchanged for over a hundred years. Ride along quiet roads where buggies are numerous and cars are few. Routes range from 23-100 miles. On Sunday ride lightly traveled roads over rolling hills through wooded areas and past numerous lakes. Routes range from 21-62 miles. Amishland and Lakes is known for its great SAG food (watermelon, peaches, blueberries and fresh baked cookies). There are numerous Amish bakeries, restaurants and homemade ice cream parlors along the route for riders who want to get a taste of the local flavor.
